About

Welcome to Crown & Reign, a platform that educates, empowers and applauds our community of nail techs, lash artists, and hair stylists.

As former Business and Finance editor of a national women’s lifestyle publication, former Operations and Communications Manager at a North Atlanta nail bar and a licensed nail technician, I remember how it felt to graduate from cosmetology school without having been taught the branding and marketing steps needed to be a successful entrepreneur in the nail industry.

I used this void to help tailor my focus at Crown & Reign. My platform provides beauty business owners with insight into the best online marketing, client engagement and brand strategy techniques. I start with making your marketing tasks less time consuming, which results in a more blissful life as an entrepreneur.

Why Crown & Reign and why now? When I started on my path as an entrepreneur, I had to hunt all over the web for the answers that I needed. I constantly ran into walls of generic and redundant information. Or, your typical baits and switches to get me to purchase a membership or class. As a busy mom of 4, I was frustrated and was wasting time.

Immediately, I decided to create Crown & Reign, a one-stop-shop that saves time and offers valuable solutions for women like me.

Crown & Reign offers high-quality, specific, easy-to-digest and insightful blog posts, ebooks and downloadables that strengthen your social media, digital marketing, and branding skills, which are vital to the growth of any beauty empire. I’m offering all the game. With me, upgrade your social media prowess, overcome digital marketing challenges, and avoid branding bloopers. Overall, I boost your proficiency and confidence that you can easily and effectively market and grow your businesses on your own.

Supporting others and helping them thrive is just a part of my Virgo personality, and I love it! Think back to your school days for just a bit. Remember the girl who always sat in the front of the class, raised her hand to answer the teacher’s questions quite often, mind you, and was always eager to help other students? I’m unashamed to say that I was that girl. And, these days, not much has changed.

Although that inquisitive little girl from Atlanta is all grown up now, my excitement to learn and share my knowledge with those around me is very much still a part of who I am.

While a sophomore in college, I interned at award winning Atlanta Magazine, which currently reaches more than 400,000 readers. When I graduated summa cum laude, with my 1-year-old son in my arms, and then off to national lifestyles magazine, Upscale, where I worked my way up to Business and Finance Editor, I had no clue that those days were just the beginning of my career helping women entrepreneurs, just like you, to be dynamic.

After Upscale, I freelanced for years for several publications where I wrote business-related features in local publications, including Atlanta Magazine, The Atlanta Voice, and Smyrna Vinings Lifestyle Magazine and honed my ability to bring readers specific information without fluff.

Freelancing also allowed me to interview successful women in business from across the country, including former The Apprentice contestant, Believe Bigger author and entrepreneur Marshawn Evans Daniels and Carol’s Daughter founder Lisa Price, to get their take on how to grow a business, which I leaned upon when I hustled as Operations and Communications Manager for a woman-owned nail bar getting off the ground in North Atlanta.

What does all this mean for you right now?

My skills as a trained journalist, more than a decade of professionally interviewing various business experts and celebrities—Usher, Van Jones, Monica, Mary Mary, Tyrese, Malik Yoba, Big Boi, Andrew Young, and Hillary Clinton, just name a few—reading numerous business and marketing books, writing reams of published articles, attending countless business seminars and having done hours upon hours of small business-related research, I’m prepared to provide action-oriented steps and easy-to-digest solutions that develop a beauty business.

My goal is to help you to save time while feeling confident in your skills as an entrepreneur, and as a result, you’ll increase your beauty business’ revenue and solidify its longevity in the market.

Ladies, I’m all about living the dream, and I want you to live your own definition of the dream. Entrepreneurship will help to get you there, but not without some challenges along the way. Let me add a bit more ease into your days by being your resource for branding and marketing advice. Lean on Crown & Reign, I got you.

XOXO,
